Talk About It Tuesday - Big Tigger talks to LHHATL's Mary Jane

A couple of weeks ago on Love and Hip Hop Atlanta there was an episode which caused major controversy among the social networking waves.  For those who may not watch the show; there is Rasheeda (an Atlanta based rapper) and Kirk (her manager/spouse) both cast members on the show.  The couple have been married for 13 years however it appears over the past couple of episodes (or at least to the viewers eyes) there are signs of martial problems.

Fast forward to this episode, Kirk and Rasheeda, engage in an argument and the words "DO YOU" (which I bet Rasheeda regrets now) comes out of her mouth.  For whatever reason, her inconsideration, immature husband takes that statement literal and decides to run full speed ahead with a banner which says in bold letters "I'M DOING ME".

Soon after the episode aired Twitter, Instagram, and I'm pretty sure every other social media site went in the for kill.  Both Kirk and Mary Jane (the female) he engaged in inappropriate activity in front of millions of viewers received tons of negative comments.

I happen to be browsing YouTube, and of course there is a radio interview telling her side of this big mess.

One major thing that disturbs me about the whole situation is how Mary Jane speaks with such callousness about her encounter with Kirk.  Obviously, the show was edited and the viewers do not have a complete picture of everything that happened, but you get the idea.

Now, I will agree with Mary Jane when she said "I'm not married to Rasheeda, I'm not the one with the vow".  This is true and it should go without saying the responsibility lies on the man when it comes to respecting the vows taken in marriage.  However, Mary Jane, was well aware of Kirk's marital status so there is also responsibility on her part as a female.  This isn't one of those situation where you meet a guy and he tells you he isn't married. There isn't miscommunication or uncertainty.  She knew exactly what she was getting into and the repercussions.

At what point should females (aka side chicks, jump-offs or whatever name they go by) say I respect myself enough to not allow this catastrophe to happen. To say the least all parties involved look quite stupid.  The wife because she was publically humiliated and will eventually take him back, letting him know it is okay to disrespect her and cheat.  The husband because he made a complete fool out of himself on television.  And of course the side chick, because she comes off as the home wrecker.
